Some teams / leagues will fill up quickly, and others may not have enough participants.  We don’t ever want to have to turn any child away for any reason, but will unfortunately have to do so if the team / league are full or if there are not enough participants to field a team.

League Descriptions

6U Soft Tee-Ball - Soft Tee-Ball is geared towards introducing 4-6 year old girls to the sport of Softball.  The instruction is based on the fundamentals, introducing the children to the field of play, positions, simple plays and the mechanics of fielding and hitting.   We use a 10 inch  Easton Incrediball for safety (a much softer version of a softball).  The coach will pitch three times to the batter and if she does not hit the ball then we use a Tee. We keep the teams small so that each child gets a lot of playing time and less standing or sitting around.  In addition, the player gets a lot more individual coaching time. Practices are held at GORC. This age group participates in the NCCGSL league. Games will be held at GORC and other AA County fields, one week day (usually Wed) and on Saturdays.   Players are placed on individual teams using age parity.  You will be contacted by your coach mid March with practice times and location.  The games will begin mid/late April and run till early June.  Please contact the Softball Commissioner- Thomas Abel if you are interested in coaching.

8U Coach/Kid Pitch Softball - Coach Pitch Softball will introduce 7 and 8 year old girls to the sport of Softball.  This secondary level of instruction is geared towards enhancing the basic fundamental skills of fielding, hitting, defense, and sportsmanship.  This league is appropriate for girls who have had one or two years of Soft Tee-Ball as well as those entirely new to the sport.  We use an 11 inch Easton Incrediball for safety (a much softer version of a softball).  Coaches will pitch to their own players through the first half of the season and then the girls will pitch two innings starting in May. Teams are kept small to keep the emphasis on instruction and fundamentals and to give the girls more playing time. New this year, 2021, 8u teams will participate in the North County Community Girls Softball League (NCCGSL) and travel to other AA County fields. Players are placed on individual teams using age/talent parity.   Practices are held at GORC.  You will be contacted by your coach mid March with practice times and location.  The games will begin mid/late April and run till early June.  Please contact the Softball Commissioner- Thomas Abel if you are interested in coaching.
