GORC SPORTS TOWER

 

 

For the past four years, we have been in the process of planning and attaining approval to build a two-level Sports Tower which will be used for announcing and filming games on the two upper multi-purpose fields at GORC Park.  The tower will have storage and meeting capabilities on the lower level which can be used by all sports programs within GORC.

DONATIONS OF MATERIALS AND SERVICES

 

The bulk of the cost of building the tower will come from donations and fundraising.  We are asking for help in soliciting materials and services to be donated to the construction of the tower.  If you work for, or know of a Company that would be willing to provide the following, please contact Dwain Jones at djones03@verizon.net.  Please also contact Dwain if you have any questions.

 

All material and most labor donations are tax deductible and the donor will be provided a receipt.

 

Please see a generic list below of the material that will be needed to complete the construction of the tower.  Additionally, please see a list of the services that could be used.  Please keep in mind that volunteer services for general labor could be used, but is not recommended for trade specific labor due to liability and production reasons.

 

The list of materials needed is as follows:

 

  • Concrete for footings, slab (exterior patio for engraved brick sub-base), interior slab
  • Split faced Gray block (light to medium in color) and mortar
  • Rebar and anchor bolts for footings
  • Metal door frames, metal doors, and security hardware
  • Security roll up windows
  • Vinyl siding and vents for gables
  • Cabinets for interior
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Wood framing for joist,  bracing for joist, framing for stairs, interior walls, ledgers, etc...
  • Drywall and associated material
  • Trusses and ridge vents
  • Steel for I-Beam and supports
  • Electric unit heaters and Interior A/C unit for meeting area
  • Grass seed and straw or sod
  • Structural backfill
  • Stone for backfill
  • Sand or fines for leveling of the brick pavers

  • Excavation, backfill, and compaction
  • Masonry
  • Concrete
  • Framing
  • HVAC
  • Brick pavers placement 

 

 

We are raising money to help pay for the new Sports

Tower at GORC Park.  The bricks will be placed on

a patio in front of the tower.
